Bringing Music Home
When Sherwood Montessori Public Charter (the school my nieces and nephews attend) approached me about leading the design for their student music festival, I knew it was a golden opportunity to do rewarding community-based work. I created a nostalgic logo and advertising package that played off of original Woodstock imagery, combining the classic bird with Sherwood’s howling wolf mascot. Additionally, I provided input on marketing, event planning, and creative direction.
The design was used across multiple marketing elements, including t-shirts and posters. It even went community-viral – people were talking about it everywhere from grocery stores to local businesses. It contributed to the festival being a huge community hit for multiple years, which resulted in increased funding for Sherwood Charter.
