BETTER TOGETHER, BY DESIGN
THE CHALLENGE & THE STRATEGY
When my company merged with its parent company, I took the lead in integrating two creative departments located across the country from one another. My goal was to create a unified team that preserved the strengths of both departments while building a more efficient, collaborative way of working. I developed the integration roadmap from start to finish, determining the sequence and timing of each phase to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting ongoing projects. By evaluating both teams’ existing workflows, I designed a blended process that combined their strongest practices into one cohesive system, improving productivity while creating a consistent approach to managing creative work.
THE EXECUTION & RESULTS
Beyond the operational integration, I focused on the people behind the process. I built trust through clear communication, thoughtful planning, and consistent support, fostering the relationships that helped team members develop trust in one another. I also designed the organizational structure for the newly combined department, aligning talent and team assignments with the way clients requested work to create clearer ownership, stronger partnerships, and a more intuitive workflow. The integration was completed with zero downtime and no loss in productivity, delivering a unified department that was better aligned with client needs and positioned for long-term success. This project demonstrated my ability to navigate complex organizational change while balancing process optimization, team dynamics, and business priorities.
